August 1, 2022: Boston Scientific Japan announced that it merged with Lumenis Be Japan. This merger is in conjunction with the global integration of the company's surgical business with Lumenis on September 1, 2021.
Boston Scientific Japan Announces Merger with Lumenis Japan
Lumenis is a global manufacturer of laser therapy devices, and its Surgical business has laser technology that increases surgical accuracy and efficiency in the treatment of urinary tract stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Prior to the merger, the company had long sold urological laser products in the U.S. and Japan through a distributorship agreement with Lumenis.
